Typical bad start for baseball, getting outscored 42-11 in a three game sweep. I thought the indoor practice facility would help them be competitive with teams out west and down south early in the season, but apparently not.

Do they use the new indoor place?

That run to the college world series is and will be a one-and-done. Very different times back then. Different AD, different presidents, and different directions. "shock the world" is indeed the truth and was a monumental moment in history for this school.

I think SB’s baseball program is generally overrated because of the World Series appearance in 2012. Although they’ve done relatively well in the America East, doing well among mediocrity is only average at best.

The baseball program must have caught the disease infecting other SB sports. Sitting at 0-9.

We typically are at a disadvantage against the warm-weather school so starts like this are expected but damn they couldn't win a single one of those games?

The indoor hitting facility that opened eight or so years ago was supposed to help with cold weather practice but now not sure that money was well spent. They consistently lose out to teams that aren’t Northeast bottom dwellers.

Senk knows baseball, though.  Long time here but highly regarded in a lot of places.

Once we got back to the Northeast we won 5 in a row

Evan Giordano named national player of the week after going 14-for-22 with 14 RBIs in 5 games.

That should tell you SBU baseball is NOT a national contender.

Not many Northeast programs can compete early season with the southern programs early in the year. I don't think anybody thinks a team from the CAA is a national championship contender when you are competing against the SEC/Big 12/etc

They still have the potential to make a lot of noise and it will be interesting to see how they handle the CAA this year.

I don't think a northeast school has ever won the full title. Hell, we were the first northeast school to even make it to the final 8 in 26 years in 2012.
