The 2019 Seawolves baseball season schedule is already up:

I am not a big follower of baseball, college or pro... but I wonder what happened to our baseball momentum? Was 2012 CWS appearance the peak? I had assumed that the success and publicity of that year would propel ourselves to a perennial AE juggernaut and regular tournament appearances. Why is the lack of success? talent drop? Can someone with more insight shed some light please?

PS Admin/Mod I think we can unpin all the threads except the rules of the board thread and this thread, please.

I agree we have dropped off since our great season.  Coach doesnt even post who he has recruited or signed .  I would think  kids would love to play here given the new field and our facilities.  I dont expect that much again this season . A top 4 finish in the conference would be good.

OldSeawolf:
2012 was an aberration; the stars aligned with that team. The Big problem is that big time players don’t play in the Northeast; they gravitate to the south and west. Here on Long Island you’re playing more than 1/2 your season in the freezing cold. Who in their right mind, with exceptional talent, would sign up for that?  Only kids that really want to stay home. Don’t blame Senk; the cards are stacked against him when it comes to recruitment.

That makes so much sense. Didn’t think about cold. Just look at the list below. Only like 2-3 cold weather schools in top 25!

But I was expecting the team to at least use the momentum to dominate the America East. I believe they've only won 1 title since they went to the CWS. That's pretty disappointing. I do think the Dubin Indoor Practice facility will be a big help for the team though assuming it's large enough to run some drills in their during the colder months.
