Baseball continues to struggle in 2017.  We were swept by Hartford this weekend in a 3 game series.

Another dismal finish for baseball losing in the AE  playoffs to UMBC and Maine. They finished just at 500 for the year .

Where are all these NCAA bids promised by the AD?

This 2016-2017 athletic year has been weak except for womens lacrosse and cross country.  We seem to be falling short in a conference we should dominate the AE .

Totally agree. We/me talk about how SB should move up to a more competitive conference, and I still think we should, but they should be dominating in the AE as well

Isn't it tough to move up when you can't dominate the AE?

I'm still high on Boals.  Good pick by SH.

Senk has always been very highly regarded among pro scouts.  This year's mediocre baseball season is surprising.

I am a strong believer, scheduling tougher opponents will make a team stronger and better in the long run. The AE has a history of weaker opponents in most sports, except for UA and Vermont in Basketball. But most other sports the AE is weak. Going into a stronger conference also helps with recruiting better athletes and more recognitions with scouts for whatever sport you are in..Perfect example of this is with SB football. We were always strong in the big south where the competition was weak, outside of Liberty and coastal carolina. Going into the CAA where most members are very strong, we struggle. But this will change in time when coach P leaves and SB brings in a better coach who has the skills and recruiting background to compete..

We definitely need to do much better as an athletic department if we're going to move up to a better conference, but as Rutgers to the B1G has demonstrated, you don't have to be good to move up. Our AAU status and great academics open up more doors for us than most realize. Once we work the athletic piece out and dominate like we should, we'll move up. Football really has to step up since the goal should be an FBS conference.

Better to be where we're at now than to be a school like Boise State who has a top notch football program, but academics that are little better than community college level. The'll never get into the Pac-12.
