They  have really come together this season. Good pitching, hitting and defense.  What we really need next year is a long ball hitter a Willy Carmona  type that can put the ball over the fence.

I was at the game today, really dominating performance from the Seawolves. This team is night and day compared to last year, but that's what one year of experience will do for you. My thoughts of the game:

1. Kevin Courtney had a monster game- if he hits like this, the Seawolves are gonna be in good shape. His homer was hit into the wind in right center. He also ripped a double right down the first base line. It was also great seeing Caputo hit his first homer.

2. The offense is legit- everybody in the lineup made solid contact today. Peragine, Caputo, Caputo, and Parenty impressed me at the plate in addition to Courtney. These guys all work deep counts and show a good eye.

3. Tyler Honahan is good- he had a rough first inning and was frustrated but he's got a smooth delivery with good offspeed stuff. In a couple of years, I think he'll definitely be draftable. He's miles ahead of where he was last year.

4. Home field advantage- great crowd today for what was one of the most beautiful days I've experienced in a long time.

Overall, lots to be excited about- this team is legit.

Just when I was complaining about no long ball hitters , they explode at the plate and put a few over the fence-LOL

I am starting to believe in this team.. They are playing freely and without any mental baggage from last year's disappointing season. I feel they can win the AE tournament and may be even make some noise at the regionals.

What do the baseball gurus of this board think? Can I get excited? I am more a basketball fan, but that 2012 run by the baseball team was amazing. I know its too much to ask to repeat that success, but is this team good enough to win a game or two at the regionals?

A lot of baseball to play  but they are looking good.  We get Hartford here the of the season- so we can control our own destiny.

I like to see stories like about the students  at SBU.  Doesn't matter if they are athletes or not that's a lot of accomplishment  in four years.

They went through a funk in 2012  losing 3 in row to Holy Cross and look what happened.
