Impressive feat by Frankie Vanderka who tossed his third career no hitter against Albany winning the game 7-0.

Nice start to conference play!

9 out of their last 12.

It seems like they're really bouncing back after a tough 2013. Looking forward to the rest of conference play

They've moved into the top half of teams...RPI 151 out of 302. Need to keep going like they are.

First time, long time. Big Seawolves fan here (basketball and football season ticket holder). Proud alumnus of SBU!

Anyway, I caught a good chunk of the baseball game against Albany on Sunday. Gotta say, I came away really impressed with this team. I see a lot of the same swagger that this team had a couple of years ago.

1. Much, much better plate patience- last year's team didn't show anything near the exceptional plate patience that we saw with the CWS squad, which is an unfair expectation to be fair. However, it wasn't even close last year. The team this year has shown much improved plate patience and almost everybody on Sunday drew a walk. Last year, they walked 179 times in 59 games. At the current pace, they will walk 266 times. It's no surprise that the team has an OBP of .355 this year compared to the .318 that they finished with last year.

2. Kevin Krause was missed last year- he is hitting the ball with authority right now. He was really missed last year. He's really providing a lot of offense behind the plate. Happy to see him healthy. Loved the swings Kevin Courtney got on some balls too. He drilled one double out near the batters eye during the game that went a long, long way.

3. Ryley MacEachern has good stuff- he throws a nice sinking fastball and got a lot of ground balls. Should be good to see him progress. Robert Chavarria is a fun, fun player- he made a sparkling play on a groundball in the hole that the Albany runner just beat out. The new guys are showing lots of skill.

Overall, I'm optimistic about the team this year. Looking forward to catch some more games this year- hopefully the weather will be better the rest of the way.

Thanks for the insight. Two  3 game sweeps in less than a  month is impressive. They don't seem to be making many fielding or throwing errors  either.  That was problem in 2013.

I sure hope so. They're the worst team in the nation.

We split  today  despite the weather, rubber game Monday. Take 2 out 3 and we will be fine. Hartford roughed Binghamton last week.

Hartford good this year...their pitcher (Newcomb) one of best in the nation and hasn't allowed an earned run yet
