MLB Draft 12th Rounder Johnny Caputo decided to attend Stony Brook University for the next three years. Awesome!

21st Rounder Daniel Zamora also chose to go to SBU. Very, very exciting time for that baseball program.

Do I smell another trip to  Omaha  in 2013 ?  Hopefully baseballs success  spills   over to out other sports.

NYC loves their winners and our baseball team fits that to  a T.  Really want  to see their schedule.  They  ended last season ranked 7th in the nation.

"The Seawolves landed the region's highest-drafted recruit in 3B Johnny Caputo, a 12th-round pick by the Athletics. Physical and polished, Caputo has experience on a big stage with the Canadian Junior National Team, and his gap-to-gap bat will play early on. Projectable LHP Daniel Zamora is a strike-thrower with an 86-89 fastball, sharp curve and developing change. Quick-twitch infielder Brett Tenuto is an above-average runner with solid defensive actions and a nice line-drive stroke at the plate."

Off topic but a shout out to Tom Koehler who won his first MLB game for the Marlins.  He has pitched fairly well but gotten poor run support.

This kid seems like he has the physique and attitude to have a huge upside when he gets to SB. He already has gaudy numbers....not sure why bigger schools didn't show interest.

Sounds like another Willie Carmona  who hit and pitch as well.  It will be nice to see him on Long Island.  I think our new facilities are a selling point  for new recruits which is a good investment.

Tom Koehler, a Stony Brook alum is blanking the Mets after 6 innings.
