That sure was a let down. The pitching and hitting were mediocre at best. The pitchers couldn't throw strikes, and batters couldn't get it out of the infield. They certainly did not look like they belonged in Omaha today. Winning the next one would make everything better. Let's hope for a wake up call for Sunday.

Johnson obviously struggled early. He's still 4-1 in NCAA tournament play, a clutch player and we wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for him. We didn't seem as disciplined at the plate as we had been in the weeks prior. Plutko is a fantastic player, but it looked like we were making it easy for him at times.

We've been in this position in both the regionals and super regionals. Let's shock the world one more time!

The Seawolves will just have to do this from the losers bracket. They didn't look like the same team that played at LSU, but they will regroup.

It was weird. From the beginning they looked much different. As soon as I saw them swing at all the pitches early in the 1st inning I knew it was going to be a different game.

But hopefully, they play hard against FSU on Sunday.

Geesh, losing 9-0 to FSU. College World Series or not, this is embarassing. Enough for me...just hope they can keep FSU in the single digits AND score a few runs.

Tough way for the season to end, but getting the CWS is an incredible accomplishment.

sorry to see it end so soon for y'all.

still a hell of a season though.
and now that y'all are on the map, more postseason opportunities should start trickling your way.

the selection committee will more than likely pay a little more respect to y'all for a good season than they have in the past.

good luck next year (unless y'all play us again)

Congratulations to the 2012 Seawolves, a banner year for the athletic dept.

Something to build on for next year.

Great run, they have nothing to hang their head about. Just to hear the school being talked about for the past couple of weeks was great. Joewillie and I were around when all anybody said about us was Stoney Baloney. Well not anymore only good things ahead.

Baseball is a cruel game.  Y'all came down here to Louisiana and showed what you can do.  In Omaha it was different.  But really, that is the nature of baseball.  LSU fans had to face it in the Super Regional.  No matter how disappointing it was, you must agree that Stony Brook deserved to be playing in Omaha because your team was on that level.  This year LSU beat three teams who made it to the College World Series.  We swept Arkansas and took 2 of 3 from Florida and South Carolina.  However, Stony Brook took 2 of 3 from LSU when it mattered.  That is a very big accomplishment in this age of mega-programs.  Hope to see y'all again next year.

First and foremost if you ever get the chance to go to a CWS  do it-you will love it.  If you like college baseball and want to rub shoulders with real college sports fans then Omaha is the place to be. We met some really  great people from South Carolina, Arkansas and Alabama who wanted to know more about SBU. The folks from South Carolina knew all about us from football and winning the Big South last season and congratulated us for football and baseball. These are the same folks that have a two time national champion baseball team. No attitudes, no looking down their noses , they were true fans. I cant  say enough about the people of Omaha a really great bunch and most had SBU gear on.
As for the game with UCLA as you saw it was disaster I really felt for our guys. The worst time to go into a total slump was then. I would have traded three losses to UMBC for a better showing.  But we had a great run and drew plenty of attention just getting there.
Big question now is will our drafted juniors go pro or will Carmona , Tissenbaum and Jankowski stick around one more season to try and repeat ?  If they stay and with our three super freshman and a good class coming in we could just be back in the hunt in 2013. I wouldn't blame them if they go for the money but minor league ball has alot of pitfalls.  But Im proud for our team and the instant fame it brought to the school and our athletic department.  Hopefully a few our guys will return as Cantwell did this year.
