America East Cancels All Competitions and Practices Through End of Academic YearBOSTON — Effective immediately, all competition and practices for all teams and individual student‐athletes at America East Conference institutions have been canceled for the rest of this academic year, including any spring sport events that occur beyond the academic year.The decision was made in light of the recent developments, including the cancellation of all NCAA winter and spring championships, regarding the spread of the COVID‐19 virus. This is a proactive decision to protect the health, safety and well‐being of everyone.
Alot of over reaction to this virus. College and pro sports , Broadway theater , schools , parades very chaotic probably worse than the disease itself.

I disagree. We don't know what we're up against and this thing could easily mutate into something much more severe. The good that I think will come of this is that telework will become more prevalent in the country, and people will be better prepared for diseases like this in the future. I also hope it means China finally shuts down these damn wet-market meat markets where all these damn diseases originate. There will be tremendous pressure on them to do so.

I strongly believe this is way overblown. There are a lot of videos coming out from patients, some very old patients who were tested positive for the Virus and lived to tell their stories. MOst are saying the virus is nothing more than a mild cold.
The NCAA Council Coordination Committee has "agreed to grant relief for the use of a season of competition for student-athletes who have participated in spring sports," Stadium college basketball reporter Jeff Goodman tweeted Friday afternoon. Ten minutes later, The Athletic's Nicole Auerbach tweeted, "Per source, NCAA sent a note to membership today saying it believes 'it will be appropriate to grant relief for the use of a season for competition for student-athletes who have participated in spring sports.'"
