Drone footage shows progress at SUNY Stony Brook where an alternate care facility is being erected by New York District. The facility will be home to 1038 non-COVID19 beds in order to ease the burden on the New York Hospital System.

I am so excited once completed Coumo will be sending all the sick covid19 patients from NYC out to SB for treatments. Let's infect all the health care workers out here now.

I dont think all these beds will be needed going forward. It looks as if the curve has already started. Hopefully, in 2 weeks NY numbers drop considerably.

I believe this pandemic will change our lives forever, in many different ways going forward.

As far as for colleges and university the pain and financial loss look to be crippling for a lot of schools. There is a strong case that SBU could cut some sports programs. Football could be one of those sports. Remember Hofstra did just that in much better times.

I’d rather the state shut down all those tiny upstate SUNYs before they even think about touching our sports.

Well cutting the program would certainly be one way to accomplish that....

One thing for sure, with NY state budget cuts almost a guarantee at this point, the new SBU President is going to have to make some tough decisions, and given her non-sports resume, one can surmise that cutting some programs can be on the list.  I'm guessing basketball and football will be safe, but who knows at this point.
How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

Men's and women's sports must give an equal number of scholarships due to title IX. Obviously basketball isn't going anywhere (literally impossible to cut) and football would be the last to go I think, but I guess anything is possible. Men's Soccer would be the first to go.

Track and field or cross country seem like the most insignificant. But men’s soccer also isn’t that great.

But again, I just hope the cuts don’t fall on us. Slash funding to SUNY Fredonia or Potsdam or Morrisville first before you touch anything related to us. Those schools have enrollments smaller than our worst football attendance numbers.
